PINK SUNDAY WOMEN’s FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Pink Sunday is a women's only Flag Football League. There are 6+ teams in the league. Each team has a designated head coach, assistant coach, and team captain. Games are held on Sundays from 9am-12:30pm at Danehy Park, 87 New St Cambridge, MA. Click here, to view schedule.

Conditioning 

Conditioning is a vital part of the flag football league. Players will learn all the qualities of what makes a good football player. You will work on speed, agility, coordination, leg muscle strength and participate in various drills. Injuries will occur, the purpose of these training's is to decrease the likelihood of injury amongst participants. 

PINK BOWL

The Pink Sunday Pink Bowl is our annual fundraising event. Here our playoff games and championship game will take place. This years Pink Bowl will take place on October 9th, 2022. It is a family friendly event which features live music, food, vendors, health information, health screenings, raffles and more.    

 

FREQuently asked questions - WOMEN’s LEAGUE

I've never played a sport before can I still play?

Yes, the league is open to all levels of experience.

When are tryouts?

We do not do tryouts, anyone interested in playing can play. In order to play, you have to register, sign a waiver and attend Training Camp.

I'm new and not on a team, can I still play?

Yes, you can still play. You will have to register as a free agent, and you will be placed on a team by the last week of conditioning.

When does the league start?

The league starts with 3 weeks of training camp, beginning late June. The first game of the season is typically late July.

What is a training camp?

Training camp is our Sports Performance training sessions held before the season to prepare participants for the season. Training Camp is an important and mandatory component of the Pink Sunday league. This is where you are taught the fundamentals of the game. At training camp, you will work on agility speed endurance & coordination.

When & where are games held?

Games are held every Sunday at Danehy Park, 87 New St. Cambridge, MA. Games start at 9AM, 10:15AM, and 11:15AM. Teams do not play at the same time every Sunday.

When is practice held?

Practice days are determined by each individual team. Many teams practice twice a week to best accommodate the team as a whole.

Do I need any equipment?

You must have cleats designed for turf. You will be given a team jersey, and flags. Football gloves are optional but mandatory for players who play on the blocking line.

What is the pink bowl?

The pink bowl is our annual playoff/championship game & fundraising event. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 9th. The rain date is Sunday, October 16th. The pink bowl is an all-day event as we run multiple games that day.
